Yesterday I was contemplating what to do to honor 9/11. I thought about drawing something; but then realized I'm not the greatest drawer in the world. But then, thanks to my English class today, I had a way! My teacher basically told us to write some literature about 9/11, whether it be a story, a poem, etc. And, well, this happened:
The Silence
- 9/11/13
The cold, blue sky,
Above the city of a million lights.
Peaceful,
Calm,
Alive.
The silence of dawn,
Broken only by the sun.
Glass towers,
Glittering in the dawn.
The ashen, grey sky,
Above the city of horrified eyes.
Chaotic,
Fearful,
Dead.
The silence of day,
Broken by the screams.
Glass towers,
Shattered to all.
Commisions
So, i've run into a bit of a problem, i'm a bit low on cash, and need it for the upcoming school year. So i've had to make a decision regarding whether or not i should get another job to help pay. I'm not a huge fan of this idea, so i had to come up with another. This idea is the possibility of offering commissions. So, what does everyone think of that idea? If everyone likes it, i do have one question, just how do you actually get the pay from it and such? Like how does the people you commission pay you for your work?
More than likely the commissions i will be offering will be writing poetry for people, mostly free verse of course.
Veteran's day weekend
I wish there was something I could write here in honor of our veterans, perhaps a poem or something of that sort. But as of right now my mind has nothing to put down here. Well, since i have nothing so far, I might as well say it right now;
Thank you veterans, both past and present, for your service to not only America, but to other countries around the world in your endless war on cruelty and tyranny. You do what no one else is willing to do, and for that you have my utmost respect. For all veterans who suffer from injuries both physical and psychological, I wish you luck in your recovery and hope that this cruel, cruel world won't caus
